Band Booster Board Vacancy - President


As this school year comes to an end, the Band Boosters are just about finished in securing our new members for the Band Booster Board as many present boosters will be moving on to high school. I am happy to report that all of the chairs have been filled, as well as, 3 of the executive board positions; but there is still one remaining- the president.

Please consider this position, the president answers directly to Mrs. Reed and presides over all the Booster meetings, is included in many important decisions regarding the band during the school year, and represents the band major during the school year at school wide PTSA meetings.

We will have several strong leaders remaining on the board to guide our new members.  Our board meets once a month for about an hour and a half.  If you are interested in serving or would like to nominate someone, please contact current President Anna Kerr.

Concert Festival Results


Dear students and parents,
YOU are fabulous!  The parental support this week was great, Thank you!!!!

All of those who helped chaperone, work the festival, etc.  We could not have done this with out you!  

Please make notes of what we can do better next year.  They have asked us to do this again!  I have received several nice comments about this being the best festival yet.

OH- Both bands got straight superiors!!!   Yeah kids!!!!

There is one last request from Mrs. Reed for Adult Helpers on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday


There is a table outside of the MS Band Room that needs to be manned as the Band Directors from the competing schools come in for their registration. This table needs 2 adults from 11- 4 pm each day. The Boosters know that this is a last minute request, and appreciate whatever time you can give this week!

Please reply to soamsband@gmail.com with what day you can do. I will send a final list out to all, so we can see where the coverage is.  

The bands are ready after their dress rehearsal tonight and a early THANK YOU to all that have volunteered to be parent chaperones on Tuesday and Thursday. You all know who you are and the times that you are needed to be at SOA. Thank you to the stage helpers. Thank you to the parent who has volunteered to help with the snack break that the Wind Ensemble has on Thursday before they go into the RMMT to watch the bands perform. Thank you to all the band parents and students that came out on Saturday morning to clean, get the stage set, and the rooms ready.
And Thank You to Mrs. Reed for her dedication to our students and this band program!!!

Please know that there is an open invitation to come and watch the Concert Band on Tuesday morning at 10 am and the Wind Ensemble on Thursday afternoon at5 pm, so please come and show your support as these wonderful bands perform and share a little of your time at the registration table outside of the MS Band Room.

Paper needed for Concert Festival

Concert Festival is coming up very soon and School of the Arts is the host to the Festival.
Mrs. Reed is in need of "color" copy paper to make the programs for the 3 day event, so the Band Boosters are asking that each grade level bring in reams of paper so print the programs.

Please have your student bring the copy paper to he MS Band Room by Thursday March 20.

6th grade Band- light blue paper
7th grade Band- light purple paper
8th grade Band- light green paper
